Our company is going through an energy transition. How do we protect new solutions?
New renewable and smart grid technologies can be protected on several fronts: industrial designs for devices and components, trademarks for product brands, and trade secrets for manufacturing know-how. We start by mapping IP assets and establishing which require formal registration and which are better kept confidential.
We export industrial products to the EU. Is one mark enough?
Yes — an EU trademark protects the brand in 27 countries at once. For exports outside the EU we use the Madrid System. One point matters: file before you start selling, otherwise you risk someone registering a similar mark in your target market.
We run a game studio in Katowice. What should we secure before launch?
At minimum: register the game title and studio logo as trademarks, verify that copyright in the code, graphics and music has been assigned to the studio, and audit agreements with freelancers and contractors. That prevents a creator from raising claims to elements of the game after release.
